Knowledge--Additional Value Experience #7--Girl's Camp 2013

This year was my first girl's camp.  I was kind of nervous to go because I had never been and didn't know what it was going to be like.  It was fun because everyone was nice to each other.  But we didn't sleep very much.  I am excited to go again next year.

This is the Place Heritage Park: Knowledge Value Experience #3

The 13th Article of faith says that we should participate in activities that are uplifting.  Our family went to Salt Lake City to the THIS IS THE PLACE HERITAGE PARK.  This is a park that is dedicated to the early settlers of the Utah valley.  It is where Brigham Young led the early saints.  It was a blast!   We got to see pioneer log cabins, iron and hang laundry, make butter and rolls, a school, pan for gold, make an arrowhead necklace, leather tooling, a blacksmith shop and ride a pony.  The pioneers worked really hard.  It made me appreciate all the things I have that make my life easier.

Swim Team 2013

This was our first swim meet in Wendell. I got a 5th place, a 4th place, a 3rd, place and 2 second places.

Swim team was hard.  Sometimes I was very tired when I had to get up early in the morning for practice every day and then for swim meets on Saturdays.  All my friends were sleeping in, but I got up early.  But it all paid off because I got a lot of exercise and with lots of practice I was able to improve all my times for all my different strokes.

Uplifting Media: Choice and Accountability Personalized Value Experience #8

The activity day girls came to our house and I taught a lesson about being careful with technology and media.  I told a story about a girl who was at a party and felt uncomfortable when some music was on that had bad language.  We talked about the 13th article of faith and how the the music we listen to and the tv we watch should be uplifting.  Then we watched the movie Finding Nemo on our big screen TV and ate popcorn.

Divine Nature 10 hour Project Sacrament Meeting at Park View

For 6 months, I went to Park View Care Center  to help the elderly people have Sacrament meeting.  My grandma and grandpa had a calling that was to be in charge of the sacrament meeting.  I was only going to go until my 10 hours was up, but then I liked it so much that I went all the time.  It ended up being a project that was 250 hours instead.   I wheeled them into the room, passed out hymn books, set up chairs and then when Sacrament meeting was over, I wheeled the people back to their rooms and helped clean up.  I feel bad for a lot of the people there.  A lot of them are sick and can't do anything.  But they are also fun to talk to.  They are all very nice.
